A new way to price reissues for LATAM fares

Welcoming new heights. It means a simpler process and more flight options when you reissue.

Dear travel partner,

For tickets with LATAM fares issued on or after October 14, 2026, the way reissues are priced is changing.

No more searching for historical fares. REF and NONREF reissues will be priced automatically with the fares available on the day of the change, both in NDC and in GDS automated reissues. In these cases, there’s nothing else you need to do: the system will show the same fare that would be available for a new ticket.

You can also choose any available fare, even one lower than the original, as long as it meets the applicable conditions.

You’ll only need to handle a reissue manually when automated reissue isn’t available or the case calls for an exception covered in the procedure.

With which fares can you price

It depended on the segment you changed. If you changed only the return, you used the fares from the original ticketing date.

Always the fares available on the day of the reissue.

Which fare you can change to

Non-refundable: only an equal or higher value fare.

Refundable: any fare: higher or lower fare

Any available fare, higher or lower.

If the new fare is lower

Only refundable fares generated a balance in the customer’s favor, based on the fare conditions.

Refundable: the difference is refunded*, excluding the change fee.

Non-refundable: no credit balance. The change fee is paid separately.

Important: tickets issued before October 14 follow the conditions that applied when they were issued.

Here’s how it works

For example: Your customer has a Lima – Santiago – Lima ticket issued on December 1. Today is December 30, and they want to change their return date.

In case they haven’t flown yet

The whole trip is repriced at the fare available today, December 30, no matter which segment you change.

In case they’ve already flown Lima – Santiago

Does the new date meet the conditions of the flown segment’s fare (for example, minimum stay)?

Yes: the outbound keeps its fare and taxes. Only the return is priced at today’s fares.

No: the whole trip, outbound and return, is repriced at today’s fares.

What if you choose a lower fare?

Non-refundable tickets: no credit balance. The change fee is paid separately.

Refundable tickets: any remaining balance is refunded to the customer, after deducting any applicable change fee.
*For reissues made through NDC in Chile, Colombia, and Peru, this process is automatic. In all other cases, contact Global Sales Support. The process remains unchanged.

Combined tickets (refundable + non-refundable): on domestic flights, each coupon follows its own conditions; on international flights, the most restrictive condition applies. If a non-refundable fare is included, there’s no credit balance.

💡 Tip: whenever possible, keep the original brand when making the change, so your customer doesn’t lose any fare attributes.
