ANCILLARIES - The sale of regular seats on international routes will be activated

We inform that from February 13, 2019 the sale of regular seats in Economy, for all international flights operating from February 17, will be implemented. This implementation corresponds to that introduced by the new business model on international routes of October 20, 2018.

We remind you that routes between Santiago (SCL) - Easter Island (IPC) and Santiago (SCL) - Papeete (PPT), as well as PASS/Fidelidade premium tickets, maintains seat marking at no cost.

Here are the things to consider about offering international flight seats:

1. Sale of Regular Seats

The sale of regular seats will be applied through the direct and indirect channels for all passengers with brand PROMO and LIGHT, with exceptions according to the type of passenger. The issues since October 20, 2018, in these brands, have been informing in the purchase flow and CUV that the seat is subject to collection, even if it is still possible to mark free of charge on the website.

Passengers Elite/Preferred FFP

members with Black Signature, Black and Platinum categories have the attribute free of charge and extend to one (1) companion in the Black Signature and Black categories, which should be requested from the Elite Cell/Preferred Attention in the Call Center. 

Passenger with Special Needs

DPNA, SVAN, UMNR, DEAF, BLND and Wheelchair users requirements are exempt from regular seat charges.


For other passengers, please proceed as indicated in the Sale > Ancillary Products  section. 

Updated values for Seat Selection are available through the GDS. 

Recalling that:

  • Tickets issued until October 20, 2018, with the old fare basis, will be maintained the conditions of purchase and the selection of seat without additional cost via system.
  • On flights with stopovers, where there is a change of equipment or in the configuration of the aircraft in any segment, the sale of seats is not enabled. Also in these cases, seats can only be provided randomly at check-in.
  • Any remission per change implies charging a new fee. If the passenger needs to keep his seat reservation, it is recommended to reserve at the rate that allows it free (PLUS or TOP). For historical remissions, the old fare families that allow seat reservations should be maintained.
