Considerations: | VALIDITY FOR VOLUNTARY CHANGES AND REFUNDS A) Voluntary changes Tickets may only be changed if the fare allows the requested change on the reissue date and the ticket is still within its validity period. For example: - Unused journey: If the fare only allows changes before the flight (e.g., Light fare on Peru domestic routes), the change cannot be made after departure, even if the ticket was not used and is still within 12 months of issuance. - Partially used journey: If the fare allows changes but specifies a maximum stay of three months (e.g., promotional fares), a passenger wishing to stay longer at the destination must change to a fare that allows a longer stay. Reissuance will be subject to the conditions of the new fare, availability, and payment of any applicable fare differences (e.g., up to 12 months). Ticket validity for reissue:
A ticket refund may be requested within 12 months from the date of issuance. The refundable amount will depend on the conditions of the issued fare. Consider the following example: - If the journey has already begun and it is an international trip that only allows refunds prior to the first flight, even if it is still within the validity period (12 months from purchase), only the applicable taxes and fees will be refunded. APPLICATION EXAMPLES OF THE NEW VALIDITY POLICY: VOLUNTARY CHANGES: Ticket details: - Ticket issued on: July 31, 2026 - Outbound flight: August 29, 2026 - Return flight: October 1, 2026 Unused ticket: If allowed by the fare, changes can be made until July 31, 2027—that is, within 12 months from the date of issuance. The new travel itinerary will be subject to fare conditions and system availability. Partially used ticket: If the passenger used the outbound flight on August 29, 2026, and the fare permits changes: - The return segment can be modified within 12 months of purchase → until July 31, 2027. - To fly up to August 29, 2027 → (12 months from the first flight of the trip). - The newly reissued ticket is valid until August 29, 2027 → (12 months from the first flight of the trip). VOLUNTARY REFUNDS Ticket details: - Ticket issued on July 31, 2026 - Outbound flight: August 29, 2026 - Return flight: October 1, 2026 Unused ticket: If allowed by the fare conditions, a refund can be requested until July 31, 2027, within 12 months from the date of issuance. Partially used ticket: - If the passenger used the outbound flight on August 29, 2026, a refund for the unused segment may be requested until August 29, 2027, provided the fare permits it. - If the fare specifies a shorter maximum stay, the request must be made within that timeframe. The refundable amount will be subject to the conditions of the issued fare. VALIDITY FOR INVOLUNTARY CHANGES AND REFUNDS Involuntary changes - Ticket with no journey started: 12 months from the date of issue. - Ticket with journey started (partially used): 12 months from the first flight, unless the fare establishes a shorter maximum stay. Involuntary refunds - Ticket with no journey started: Process the refund within 12 months from the date of issue. - Ticket with journey started (partially used): Process the refund within 12 months from the first flight, unless the fare establishes a shorter maximum stay. Exceptions to exceed validity in cases of involuntary changes remain managed via waiver through Global Sales Support representatives.
Options for tickets issued before October 1, 2026 If a customer requests a change or refund for an expired, unused ticket issued before October 1, 2026, alternatives may be offered in accordance with the conditions of the purchased fare, including applicable penalties and fare differences. In these cases, the validity period for unused tickets remains 12 months from the start date of the journey. If a change is made, the newly reissued ticket will be subject to the new validity rules. | ||||||||||||||||
