New conditions for face mask wearing in Brazil

Description::

Please be informed that minors between 2 and 11 years old (except Brasil, that range of age is between 3 and 11 yo) must wear a mask mandatorily.

Considerations:

We understand that for children under 11 years of age wearing a mask is a significant challenge, that is why they will be allowed to take the mask off during brief periods of time, with the exception on travels to / from the United States, Brazil, Colombia and Peru (due to local regulations).

 

According to this, LATAM standard to wear a mask set this as mandatory, exception of:

 

Passenger Type

Requires Medical Certification

Infants (between 0 and 2 years old except Brazil (from 03 years old))

NO

Passengers with cognitive problems (down syndrome, asperger's, autism, etc.).

 

YES

Passengers with intellectual disabilities: mild and self-reliant.

YES

Passengers with mental pathology that could have an unbalance during the flight (e.g. schizophrenia, acute panic crisis, etc.).

 

YES

Respiratory pathologies: (diseases that require oxygen support during the flight, or that may be aggravated in flight because of wearing a mask).

 

YES

 

Passengers must respect the restrictions imposed by the health authorities of each country.

 

These measures are incorporated to the policies applied in the Change of Mask standards on LATAM flights (available only in portuguese and spanish) published on 02/05/21.
