ADJACENT SEAT - The EXST and CBBG service will be extended

We hereby inform you that effective July 13th, 2018 passengers travelling in Premium Business or Premium Economy can also access Extra Seat services (EXST) and Cabin Baggage (CBBG) paying the applicable fee for the additional adjacent seat.

Additionally, passengers with these services will be allowed to keep the applicable baggage allowance for each of their tickets (passenger ticket and CBBG/EXST ticket). Eg: if a passenger travels with a PLUS fare on a domestic route with a 1PC allowance, he/she will be entitled to 2 pieces: the one defined on his ticket and the one on the ticket where the service is reflected. This eliminates the manipulation of baggage allowance when ticketing.

The following list consists of what should be taken into consideration about the standards of the service in all classes of service:

  • Passengers can only purchase one additional seat.
  • Passengers that due to their size must out of necessity occupy the immediately adjacent seat, can only travel in Economy in order to use this service. The configuration of some of the premium cabins  (Premium Business and Premium Economy) have no retractable armrests between seats limiting the use of an adjacent seat.
  • For CBBG service the additional seat must be a window seat.
  • Seat assignment does not include seats next to emergency exits.
  • These services are only valid on 100% LATAM itineraries. They are not applicable on codeshare flights or in combination with other airlines.
  • If the service is only requested on one leg of the itinerary the available OW fare applies for both points.
  • Passengers with branded fares subject to the purchase of a seat must consider payment of regular seats as well as the additional fare per seat.
  • In the event of changes, said changes apply in accordance with fare regulations and the current reissuance policy, paying any fare difference should there be one. Only one penalty per passenger applies.
  • On routes where airport taxes apply, only the taxes for the passenger ticket should be considered.
  • These services cannot be redeemed using points or miles.

This information will be updated in the Adjacent Seat (EXST/CBBG) chapter.

We remind that any passenger with confirmed SSR that complies with the service standards and is prevented from receiving it due to changes in flight material, overbooking, etc. will be handled as any affected passenger subject to the current protection policy.
