    BAGGAGE - Voluntary change of tickets issued before January 23, 2023

    Complementary information to the communication of January 18, 2023.

    As previously reported, since January 23, 2023, some brands have had changes to their checked baggage allowance. This alteration does not apply to tickets issued before this date, for which the baggage allowance in force at the time of purchase will be respected.

    Please note that when re-issuing a ticket under the above mentioned conditions, the new ticket will appear with the new baggage allowance information and not the original one. Example:

    Ticket issued until January 22, 2023

    Economy

    Baggage allowance:

    2 pieces

     

    Voluntary reissue on or after January 23, 2023

    Class:

    Economy

    Baggage allowance informed in the new ticket:

    1 piece

     

    Don't worry, all bookings in this scenario will be automatically flagged and the original purchase baggage allowance will be respected by our airport teams.

    In the case of the previous example: the allowance that will be respected at the airport is 2 pieces.

    For domestic routes in Chile and for flights from Chile to Easter Island, this change has been postponed until further notice. This information along with the prices for excess baggage and bags will be updated in the Baggage section of latam.com.
