Irregular Operations and Protection
Check-in and ticket validation issues on flights operated by partner airlines may occur when there are inconsistencies during ticket issuance or reissuance.
To help prevent these situations and ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers, we are sharing key operational best practices to keep information properly synchronized between LATAM and partner airlines.
Following these recommendations helps ensure that travel data is accurately reflected across reservation and check-in systems.
1. Wait for full PNR generation in multi-airline bookings Do not consider the booking finalized based solely on HK status if your system does not yet display all partner airline PNRs.
2. Do not reuse VOID PNRs Even if a ticket is successfully issued, the partner airline may not receive the update, and the original voided ticket may still appear in their system. To ensure proper synchronization, always create a new booking.
3. Remove outdated fare elements (PQ/TST) Old fare elements may affect system synchronization.
4. Take care when handling multiple changes Whenever possible, plan changes carefully to minimize reprocessing. |
Duplicate records: more than one PNR created for the same passenger on the same flight.
Incorrect or incomplete passenger data: inconsistencies or missing information (documents, contact details).
SSR DOCS: to support a successful check-in, ensure document details are correctly entered in the booking, including passport number, nationality, date of birth, and expiration date.
Incorrect SSR formatting: improper use of SSR (Special Service Request) or exceeding character limits in specific fields.
Work queues daily and reconfirm HK status after any modification.
Issue or reissue tickets within the applicable TTL/TKTL deadlines to avoid automatic cancellations.
Confirm proper association of EMDs and ancillary services with the operating carrier.
We appreciate your support in applying these practices, which are essential to maintaining data integrity and ensuring a consistent passenger experience.
If you have any questions, our support channels remain available to assist you.
Sincerely,
LATAM Airlines Team
