ANIMALS - New entry requirements for animals en Routes to the United States

The ban is maintained for: - Bookings of PETC and AVIH services (dogs only) to and from countries with a high risk of dog rabies for flights until August 31, 2024. The ban is lifted for: - Cats on all routes. Review requirements in TIMATIC. - PETC and AVIH services (dogs) originating in countries with low or zero risk of dog rabies, only connecting or originating in Santiago. Otherwise they will not be accepted. The following services are excluded from the ban, provided they meet the new requirements for entry into the United States: - SVAN traveling to/from the USA. - ESAN traveling between Colombia and the USA. - PETC and AVIH originating in countries with a high risk of dog rabies that started their trip before August 01, 2024 and are returning to the USA. - Customers with a “CDC Dog Import Permit” to bring the dog to the USA until August 31, 2024 or until permit expiration date, whichever comes first. NEW REQUIREMENTS: The new requirements must be observed in all the cases mentioned above, and compliance will be verified at the airport of origination.
For previously confirmed bookings affected by the ban, customers must be offered the option of involuntary refund (Ticket + EMD). The information in this update supersedes the one released on July 18, 2024. |
