SALES - Name correction on LATAM tickets with Delta flights

Description:

A new process has been defined for name corrections on itineraries that include Delta and LATAM flights without charging a fare difference.

Considerations:

We detail the new process for making name corrections on itineraries that include LATAM and Delta flights:

GDS Agencies:

When the correction involves up to 3 characters, travel agents will be able to make the change from the original reservation when the flight is more than 48 hours away from departure. Once the correction has been made to the original reservation, the travel agent must:

  • Make an historical reissue.
  • Enter a OSI in the PNR: “NM CORRECTION FROM XXXX TO XXXX"  (original NAME or LAST NAME FOR new NAME OR LAST NAME). example: NM CORRECTION FROM SANTES TO SANDOH
  • Enter standard text in Ticket Endorsements/Restrictions:NM Correction

Examples:

Original name: [S, A, N, T, E, S]

Corrected name: S A, N, D, O, H]

With respect to the original name, the las 3 different characters were modified:T, E, S to  D, O, H

 

If the flight is within 48 hours of departure, a new reservation must be created with the correct name.

When the correction involves 4 characters or more, the travel agent must create a new reservation with the correct name.

Process to correct a new reservation.

A new reservation must be created maintaining the same booking class and flight of the original reservation. If the original booking class (LA or DL) segments is closed, the travel agent can book in the lowest available class of the same cabin and on the original flight; then contact the GSS to request authorization (waiver) to reissue the ticket without charging a fare difference and penalty. These cases must be requested with supporting documentation.

Example:

Original name: [M, A, U, R, I, O

Corrected name: [M, A, U, R, I,C, C, I, O]

With respect to the original name, the last character is modified: O to C and 3 characters were added: C, I, O

NCD and DCP Agencies

NDC Agencies: must contact GSS LATAM to request a name correction.

DCP Agencies: a new reservation needs to be created for name correction. To carry out the reissue the GSS LATAM should be contacted to obtain authorization (waiver).

The correction must be supported with an OSI: NM CORRECTION FROM XXXX TO XXXX"  (original NAME or LAST NAME FOR new NAME OR LAST NAME). example: NM CORRECTION FROM MAURIO TO MAURICCIO and a standard text in Ticket Endorsements/Restrictions: NM Correction

Name corrections’ process involving other airlines remain unchanged, that is, a new reservation needs to be created for name correction, subject to fare difference when the original booking class is not available.
