LATAM offers the PETC service — Pets in Cabin — allowing small pets to travel with passengers safely and comfortably. Learn about kennel dimensions, permitted routes, booking process, and instructions for service issuance and payment. |
LATAM allows the transportation of small pets (dogs and cats) inside a container in the aircraft cabin at the passenger's feet, if you meet all the transportation requirements and conditions by paying the associated charge. |

The service must be requested from the moment of the booking and up to 4 hours prior to flight departure. The Travel Agent must enter the service request in the reservation by means of an SSR PETC, which must include all the information detailed below:

Health Certificate: Must be issued by a veterinarian (you must have an original and a copy that will be kept at the airport), dated no more than 10 days prior to the travel date. It should include, at a minimum, the following information about your pet: Name of the pet, age, breed, vaccinations, and a statement of good health.

Required Health Documents at Origin, Destination or Connections: For example, vaccination certificates, import permits, entry authorizations, blood tests, microchips, etc. The necessary information may vary depending on your destination, and it is the responsibility of each passenger to stay informed. From Santiago to Easter Island: Animal Export Certificate (Zoosanitario de Exportación, CZE) issued by the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) that requires, among other items, that dogs and cats be registered in the National Registry of Pets or Companion Animals. |

Within Colombia: Vaccination certificate, indicating the professional registration number of the veterinarian.

Colombia: The Colombian Agricultural Institute (Instituto Agropecuario Colombiano, ICA) has established that every time you travel with your pet to or from Colombia, you must register with the ICA to initiate an application in order to obtain the Sanitary Inspection Certificate (Certificado de Inspección Sanitaria, CIS) that will be required to the trip (both departure and arrival in Colombia). To request the certificate and more detailed information, go to Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA). |

Brazil: For dogs and cats to enter, an International Veterinary Certificate (IVC) or Passport (recognized by MAPA) issued by the Veterinary Authority of the country of origin must be presented, complying with the health requirements of Brazil. Remember that only official passports from countries that reciprocally accept the Brazilian Pet Passport will be valid. At this time, the European Pet Passport is not valid for entering Brazil. |
Travel to/from the USA |
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) restricts entry into the United States of dogs coming from countries with a high risk of rabies transmission, such as Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela, or that have been in those countries within the last 6 months prior to their entry into the country. For these cases, it is mandatory for the dog to meet the following requirements:
It must be in good health.
It must be at least 6 months old.
It must have the importation form emitted by the CDC website.
It must have a microchip. The number of the microchip must be included in all the required forms and documents.
It must be vaccinated against rabies and have a document providing accreditation of this.
Depending on the country where the dog was vaccinated, entry restrictions exist and additional requirements can be requested:

Keep in mind: if your itinerary has a connection in a country with a high risk of rabies, such as Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, the dog must comply with the origin requirements for those countries, even if it has not left the boarding area of the airport.
The pet must be placed under the seat in front of its owner They cannot be placed in the front rows or emergency rows on any aircraft. Charges for transporting PETC will be applied according to the route. The Travel Agent must advise the passenger that once the service is confirmed, it must be paid directly at a LATAM Ticket Office or through the Contact Center. If there are no Ticket Offices in the city, the charge will take place at the airport.

Additionally, in Brazil, Travel Agents can finalize the collection of the service through EMD-A, as long as the service has been previously confirmed.
