EXCEPTIONS - Flexibility Extension for Tickets with Unused Segments

Update: a site has been created to verify ticket affectation and the change options available

Description

In an effort to provide greater flexibility to customers with unused tickets approaching their expiration date who have not rescheduled their travel dates, we are extending the ticket change deadline until June 30, 2022. Tickets after June 30,22  click here.

Scope:

The following unused tickets apply: 

  • With affected flights in domestic/international routes
  • With non-affected flights in international routes.

Implementation date:

Immediate

Considerations: 

This flexibility option will depend on whether the customer’s flights have been affected or not by itinerary changes, according to the following:

 

Open tickets with an AFFECTED flight in all markets and routes

Original Travel Date

Change

Between March 01, 2020 and June 29, 2021

One change without penalty or fare difference until June 30, 2022.

The trip may be rescheduled for any future date depending on flight availability.

 

Open tickets with NON-AFFECTED flights in all markets and INTERNATIONAL routes only

Original Travel Date

Between March 01, 2020 and  August 31, 2021

One change without penalty or fare difference until June 30, 2022.

 

The trip may be rescheduled for any future date depending on flight availability.

  • Customers may change the ticket according to the conditions indicated, retaining the same origin-destination, same cabin and same passenger. Other changes are not permitted.
  • Applicable to partially used or unused tickets. 
  • The change must be made as involuntary, (maintaining the original fare construction and farebasis) and adding the following endorsement: FLEXNOV2021
  • Any subsequent changes will be subject to fare differences, penalties, ticket validity and fare regulations.
  • Tickets that are not reissued by June 30, 2022, will no longer be valid for changes.
  • Remember that taxes can be refunded, even if the fare does not allow refunds.

  • The site is available here. The ticket number must be inserted.
  • Once the ticket number is inserted, the app will search the database to verify whether the flight was affected or not and determine the time limit to reschedule the trip.

  • This site only identifies the tickets that apply for the extension for tickets with unused segments. COVID exceptions for other cases maintain what is indicated in Summary of publications related to COVID.

Brazil: For the e-LATAM system, the messages will appear in the remarks (RMK) within the ticket:

  • Open ticket with affected flight in all markets and routes: AFFECTED/CHGUNTIL30JUN22
  • Open ticket without affected flight in all markets and only on international routes NONAFFECTED/CHGUNTIL30JUN22
  • E-LATAM tickets that do not have flexibility, the following message will appear: IX REFRESH

Exception:

Refunds retain the applicable rule: up to 12 months after the original travel date, except for tickets with flight changes or cancellations purchased in CL and transiting CL, where the settlement agreement with Agrecu.

For routes to IPC where flight availability to the Island has been opened and subsequently closed, the involuntary surrender option is incorporated (according to the flight dates indicated) provided it is requested by June 30, 2022 and no operations to IPC are available. Included are tickets that expired or will expire between March 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022.
