Description | Please be advised that, for reasons beyond LATAM’s control, the agreement for train services provided by Deutsche Bahn (DB) has ended. Consequently, any rail segments included in existing bookings have been cancelled. The flight segments within those bookings remain confirmed under the same booking reference. Furthermore, it is no longer possible to add train segments to new bookings under this agreement. |
|---|---|
Scope: | Passengers with Deutsche Bahn train service in their travel itinerary. |
Implementation date: | Immediate |
Considerations: | Due to the cancellation of these rail segments, customers who held this product may choose the following option: Replacement of a rail segment with an air segment - An involuntary change from a rail segment to a flight operated by an airline with which LATAM has an electronic ticketing agreement will be permitted. - The change is processed as an involuntary reissuance, booking the lowest fare class within the economy cabin. The message "INVOL DUE CANCELLED TRAIN" must be added as an endorsement. - Priority should be given to a flight that allows the passenger to reach their destination with the least possible delay, within a window of +/- 7 days from the original travel date. Example: A passenger had a rail segment scheduled for October 26, 2026. This segment may be changed—as an involuntary modification—to a flight between October 20 and November 1, 2026. - This air segment must follow the original route—that is, between Frankfurt and any destination within Germany. - Should the client wish to make a change after the option has been provided, it will be considered a voluntary change, subject to any fare differences and penalties that may apply under the applicable fare rules. Other travel options If the customer does not wish to accept the option offered, the following alternatives are available: Purchasing an alternative train ticket and requesting a refund - The customer may retain and use the air segments of their original booking. - The client may, by their own means, acquire the railway segments they require. Deutsche Bahn offers the option to purchase tickets at a preferential rate by providing passenger and trip details on the Rail&Fly website. If a customer requires assistance with this process, they should contact Rail&Fly. - Once the trip has been completed (post-flight), the customer may contact LATAM to request a refund of the amount paid for the Rail&Fly service. To do so, the customer must contact the LATAM Contact Center in their country directly, providing proof of payment for the rail segment purchased. Full refund of the purchased ticket - The client may request a full refund for the ticket purchased. To process this refund, the travel agent must contact GSS to request authorization for the refund. - When processing the refund, you must enter the note: "CANCELLED TRAIN DUE END W2 AGREEMENT." - Standard refund timeframes apply, depending on the original method of payment and the method used for the refund. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause and appreciate your understanding. |
