New Electronic Visa Requirement for Passengers Traveling to and Transiting New Zealand

Updated October 24, 2019.

This is to inform that in flights from October 1st, 2019, New Zealand will introduce a new electronic travel authorization (NZeTA - New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority), for travel to and via New Zealand or only for transiting the country. The NZeTA will be obtained through the channels established by New Zealand authorities and may take up to 72 hours to process.

The NZeTA is valid for 2 years and may be transferred to a new passport as long as they are still valid.

Passengers requiring further information and details on how to apply should visit New Zealand Immigration or contact the local consulate or embassy directly.

Given the new direct operation between SCL-SYD-SCL (LA803/LA802) it should be considered that in case of any request for voluntary or involuntary change to other flights with transit in AKL, the passenger must process the authorization and/or respective documentation.

This information is already loaded in TIMATIC and it is important to remember that passengers are responsible for obtaining the documentation required before traveling.
