SPECIAL PASSENGERS - Medical Specialty in cases of Pregnant Passengers

Update to Medical Certificate requirements as follows:

The medical certificate authorizing travel must be issued by a physician specializing in the relevant field. E.g.: Gynecologist, Obstetrician, Fetal Medicine.





Scope:

Pregnant passengers required to present a medical certificate attesting to their pregnancy.





Date of implementation:

Immediate









Considerations:

The medical certificate required must:

·        

  • Be issued by a physician specializing in obstetric gynecology;
  • Be issued within 10 days prior to scheduled departure;
  • Include the origin and destination of the passenger’s trip;
  •  State the dates of departure and arrival;
  • State the weeks of pregnancy;
  • Expressly authorize air travel.

Please remember the passenger may be asked to present the certificate at any time during the trip. The time limits for submitting the certificate for each pregnancy stage remain unchanged.

 

Travel within 7 days after delivery is not permitted unless the required medical certificate is validated by LATAM’s medical department.
