SALES - 24-hour expired fare policy


Description

As a general rule, LATAM fares are subject to change and are not guaranteed until tickets are issued. Therefore, travel agencies are encouraged to issue tickets on the same day of booking to guarantee the quoted fare. However, as an exception to this general rule, the Expired Fare Policy allows the issuance of a ticket at the quoted fare until 11:59 PM on the day immediately following the expiration of the PQ/TQT.

This Policy applies to:



  • Itineraries with LA fare issued on holding plates.

 

Policy Eligibility Requirements:

 

To issue tickets under this Exception Policy, the following requirements must be met:

  • Only applies to reservations created in GDS
  • The reservation was made before the rate expired or rate increased;
  • No alteration has occurred in the itinerary or in the name of the reservation since the cancellation or increase in the fare; 
  • The original fare was valid when the PNR was reserved; 
  • All other fare rules continue to be fulfilled at the time of issue of the ticket (eg, advance purchase, issue period, etc.); 
  • This Exception Policy applies only to the published base rate; It does not apply to taxes or surcharges.

 

Instructions and pricing documentation:



  • Manually quote the PNR at the original quoted fare and issue the ticket within one day of the PQ/TQT expiration.
  • Enter EXPIRED FARE in the endorsement field.
  • No comments, OSI, or SSR are required.
  • It is essential to adhere to the established deadline (until 11:59 PM on the day immediately following the expiration of the PQ/TQT) for ticket issuance. If this deadline is exceeded, the issuance will be subject to an ADM fee..
