EXCEPTIONS - Flexibility extension to expired tickets with unused Segments (no trip started)

The deadline to request changes for unused tickets with original flight date between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021, is extended until June 30, 2024.

Description

In an effort to provide greater flexibility to customers with expired tickets who have not rescheduled their travel dates, we are extending the ticket change deadline until June 30, 2024.

Scope:

The following unused tickets apply:

  • With affected flights on domestic or international routes

  • No affected flight only international route

Implementation date:

July 1, 2022

Considerations:

This flexibility option can be applied in cases in which the ticket is already expired,  and with an original travel date between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021, according to the following table:

Scope:

Original flight date

Status

Change

Expired tickets (more than 12 months from the date of the first coupon)

between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021

Unused

Change of date, destination and/or cabin without penalty paying difference.*

As a backup, the FLEXJUL2022 endorsement must be left on the ticket at the time of reissuing.

*The reissue will be voluntary, calculating the fare differences according to the new date, route and/or cabin, but without penalty.

Considerations:

  • Applies to tickets that have coupons in OK status with no trip started.
  • The change must be made until June 30, 2024.
  • The trip can be rescheduled at any future date depending on the available flight offer.
  • Any subsequent changes will be subject to fare differences, penalties, ticket validity and fare regulations
  • It is always possible to request a refund of the boarding fees, even if the refund of the net fee does not apply or the ticket is expired.
  • If the expired ticket is already in "historical" mode, the travel agent must contact the LATAM Support team to request reactivation and then self-manage the ticket.
  • Affected passengers on non-operational routes (eg: JNB, PPT, etc.). will be eligible to  refund even if their ticket has expired or may opt to the protection option to a nearby airport at no cost (if it is published for that destination) .
  • Affected passengers en route to/from IPC will be allowed involuntary refunds until 30/06/2024 even if their ticket is expired.
